Our Goals and key initiatives
Last season was our largest ever, with increasing participation in baseball on the Sunshine Coast. To ensure we are continually improving upon what already exists, the SCBA committee, officials, and volunteers are working towards four main priorities.

Field maintenance, improvements and expansion
Baseball fields take a lot of work to maintain. The SCBA is focused on significant upgrades for the 2026/2027 season.
Current Field Improvements

Replacing or repairing the netting and removing graffiti from all team dugouts.

Improving water drainage on all fields.

Building dirt cutouts on our junior diamonds.

Raising the cutout dirt levels to be even with the grass.
Future / Major Initiatives

Replace fencing + add gates to junior diamonds

Dig home plate cutouts on all junior diamonds

Build a new fence between our main and secondary diamonds.

Build a grandstand and shade cover for the main diamond.
Sponsorships, grants and fundraising
Almost all of the above improvements rely on our ability to raise funds through sponsorships, grants, and community fundraising.

Communication and organisation
The SCBA is making a concentrated effort to better communicate with our members and the wider public, supported 100% by our volunteers.
Initiatives include:

Establishing a knowledge base of all SCBA information (via Notion).

Re-launching our email newsletter for both juniors and seniors.

Maintaining active social media posts throughout the off-season and into 2026.

Openly sharing key contact people within our organisation.

We are focused on improving the social aspects of our league through fun and engaging events.
